Govt employee, his aide held for graft

An employee of state revenue department and his aide were today arrested from Rau town near here for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 30,000 for an official favour, Lokayukta police said.
Lokayukta police DSP V S Parihar told PTI that Kshipra region's tehsildar's reader Maheshchandra Rathore and his aide Rajkumar Pal were nabbed while accepting the bribe.
The complainant who approached the Lokayukta police had stated that he had applied for mutation of land in tehsildar's office after which Rathore demanded bribe of Rs 30,000, the officer said.
Rathore first took the money at a shop and then handed it over to Pal following which both were apprehended by the Lokayukta police who had laid a trap, Parihar said.
A case under Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against the duo in this regard and further investigation was on, he added.
