To carry out an effective public campaign, the ministry has constituted an eight-member sub-group which would look into all aspects related to publicity, official sources told PTI.

The group would assess the awareness levels of TV viewers across the country especially in the four metro cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.

The group would also draw up a plan for awareness campaigns in the print and electronic media besides monitoring publication and broadcast of advertisements on Digitalisation.

Among members of the group are Barun Das from the News Broadcasters Association, S N Sharma from MSO Alliance, Rakesh Sharma, CEO of India News and a representative of the Indian Broadcasting Federation.

A Joint Secretary rank official, the advisor to I&B ministry on digitalisation, Nagraj, who is a Delhi based cable operator and G D Obroi, who is an independent MSO are also a part of the group.

As per the ministry's deadline, cable services in the four metros are slated to be digitalised by October 31 this year, while the date for the rest of the country is December 2014.
