Uttar Pradesh minister Shivpal Yadav today attacked Centre for not paying heed to the plights of farmers and alleged that it did not transfer the required compensation on the crop losses incurred by the state farmers.
"They (Union ministers) used our helicopters to conduct the aerial survey to assess the crop losses incurred by farmers due to unseasonal rains but they did not transfer the required compensation money to our affected farmers," Yadav said.
He said that despite all this and their little support, the Samajwadi party government released huge amount on its own and distributed it to the affected farmers.
Taking potshot on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, whose native village falls in Chandauli district, Yadav said, "what he could not do for his native village, I will do here and carry out developmental works."
When local SP leaders requested PWD minister to adopt this district, Yadav said, "I announce this publicly that I adopt this entire district and will carry out all the developmental works here."
"As now I have adopted this district I will appeal to the people here that they must ensure the victory of SP in the upcoming 2017 Assembly elections and help it to form next government," he said.
Yadav on the occasion announced sanctioning of Rs 68 crores for the construction of roads and Rs 55 crore for the irrigation purpose.
Yadav also announced for setting up a new Tehsil in Naugarh here.
