The new immigration rules will come into effect from April 6, 2016 when it will be mandatory for those applying for settlement in the UK to be in receipt of an annual income of at least 35,000 British pounds.
Replying to a written question, Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh said although official data specific to Indian nurses are not available, a report of the Royal College of Nursing, London, has suggested that the new immigration rules may lead to an exodus of nurse of various nationalities after completing their work in the UK.
