Govt orders removal of cut-outs and banners by month end

: Puducherry government today issued orders to all organisations, political parties and others who have erected cutouts or banners at various points in and around town limits to remove them by this month end.
An emergency meeting of officials of PWD, Local Administration, Police officers and Municipalities held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary Manoj Parida gage the direction to the effect.
A joint press release by Commissioners of Puducherry Municipality and Uzhavarkarai municipality said those who failed to respond to the directives would face criminal action for failure to remove the cut-outs and banners.
The Municipalities and PWD would remove the displayed materials in addition taking criminal action, the release said.
