Kumar today inaugurated a web portal 'Pharma Jan Samadhan', a web portal for consumer grievances related to pricing and availability of medicines.
"The National Pharma Pricing Authority (NPPA) has been searching for a weapon against black marketing and spurious medicines, and this portal will help them in that endeavor," Kumar said.
He emphasised that there is a need for pharma literacy in the country, especially at the level of end-user.
He also reiterated that the government is committed to regulating the prices of medicines that are on the National List of Essential Medicines.
