The court had yesterday reserved its verdict on the plea and was to pronounce it today, but decided to hear it again tomorrow, acceding to the request by the prosecution.
The Director General of Prosecutions, T Asaf Ali, requested the court for a further hearing in the case in which Achutanandan is the first accused.
The prosecution submitted that the state had more submissions to make, following which the petition was posted for tomorrow by Justice S S Sateeshchandran.
The case relates to alleged irregularities in assignment of about 2.33 acres of land to T K Soman, a relative of Achuthanandan, in Kasaragod district during the term of the previous Left Democratic Front government in 2006-11.
According to Achuthanandan, who is a former chief minister, the case was "politically motivated" and no offence had been made against him by the Investigating Officer.
Yesterday, the government had submitted that the chargesheet would be filed without delay.
