BJP chief Amit Shah today lauded the service of Sri Guru Gobind Singh and said the Centre will organise programmes at 22 places across the country associated with Sikh Guru's life.
"The tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji was not only an illustrious warrior but an inspiring social reformer too," the party quoted Shah as saying in a press statement.
"Government of India will be organising programmes at all 22 places spread across India associated with Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji's life," the statement said.
The BJP president said Sikhs the world over, by following the path of service and sacrifice, had further increased the glory of Sikh dharma.
It is always special to visit the historic Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Delhi, Shah tweeted later.
He attended a sight and sound show "Sarbansdani" at the historic Bhai Mati Das Chowk outside Sri Gurdwara Sisganj Saheb in Chandni Chowk organised by the Delhi BJP unit the World Punjabi Organisation.
On the occasion, famous singer Hans Raj Hans paid musical tribute to Guru Saheb.
