Gram plunges on fall in demand

Gram prices retreated from record highs by plunging Rs 700 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market in the national capital today following increased supplies in the market coupled with considerable fall in demand.
Traders said besides fall in demand from retailers at record high levels, improved supplies mainly pulled down gram prices.
Gram, gramdal local and best quality plunged by Rs 700 each to Rs 11,000-11,300, Rs 11,300-11,600 and Rs 11,700-11,800 per quintal, respectively.
Kabli gram small variety also eased to Rs 10,000-10,400 against last close of Rs 10,000-10,800 per quintal.
