A trivial row over cutting of grass claimed 11 lives as two tribes clashed in a remote area of Pakistan's restive Balochistan province, police said today.
A tribesman from Maachi clan was killed yesterday by rival Peecho men when he was allegedly cutting grass from their field in Jhal Magsi area of the province.
Armed Macchi men raided a house of a Peecho family, killing 10 people, and injuring at least seven.
Balochistan is Pakistan's largest but the most impoverished province where tribal feuds are common.
The majority of the residents still depend on centuries old methods of livelihood like rearing livestock and farming.
Lack of rain and fodder for animals often results in disputes between individuals which sometimes takes a nasty turn when tribes join the warring sides.
Some of the quarrels, over trivial issues, run for years.
