Green Baripada campaign kicks off

The Mayurbhanj district administration today launched a campaign to create awareness among people about the importance of expanding green cover.
The programme is aimed at developing sufficient greenery in and around the town which involved National Highway, public roads, educational institutions, government office premises.
As a part of the inaugural programme saplings were planted beside the National Highway 18 amid the presence of District Collector Rajesh Pravakar Patil, DFO Baripada Sanjay Swain, additional district magistrate Surath Mallick and Kumud Ranjan Mallick.
A rally organised during the occasion went round different parts of the town amid slogans calling for more greenery. Hundreds of school and college students, NGOs and government officials attended the function.
