The 68-year-old musician is currently under the doctor's care, resulting his 28 shows being cancelled, reported Contactmusic.
Allman, best known for performing in the Allman Brothers Band, was diagnosed with hepatitis C in 2007 and underwent a liver transplant in 2010.
"I want to thank my fans and friends for supporting me while I rest up and focus on getting better and back on the road as soon as I can.
"I've been working hard with my band, my pride and joy, to play our music for everyone. We'll see you all in October," Allman said.
