Shonda Rhimes, the creator of medical drama TV series "Grey's Anatomy", and Betsy Beers' production company ShondaLand has set up an untitled ensemble drama about Catholic nuns for ABC.
The drama has been penned by Alison Schapker of "Fringe" fame and promises to "throw into question everything you think you know about the 'brides of Christ'," reported Entertainment Weekly.
The project chronicles the story of a group of nuns fighting the closure of their Bronx convent, while also dealing with three young novices, whose arrival brings up old secrets.
Schapker's TV credits includes "Alias", "Brothers & Sisters", "Lost", "The Flash" and "Almost Human".
Shondaland recently sold the comedy "Splitsville" to ABC, and has previously brought hit dramas such as, "Scandal" and "How to Get Away With Murder" to the screen.
