Groundnut oil firm-up on steady demand

Groundnut oil prices firmed-up at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today on steady demand from stockist and retailers amidst ensuing festivities.
While, refined palmolein eased on subdued offtake from retailers amidst ample supply positions on the back of lower Malaysian cues.
In the non-edible segment, castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial declined owing to lack of demand from shippers and soap industries.
Linseeds oil maintained a steady trend in the absence of any worthwhile buying.
In futures market, castorseeds December contract declined on heavy speculative selling following reduced export enquiries.
In the edible segment, Groundnut oil climbed by Rs 10 per 10kg to Rs 910 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 900. However, refined palmolein slipped by Rs 3 per 10kg to Rs 560 as against Rs 563 yesterday.

Turning to non-edible section, castorseeds bold shed Rs 15 per 100kg to Rs 3,500 from Rs 3,515 and castor oil commercial moved down by Rs 3 per 10kg to Rs 730 as compared to Rs 733. Linseed oil closed unaltered at Rs 745 per 10kg.
Moving to futures, castorseeds December contract opened slightly lower at Rs 3,810 and drifted lower to Rs 3,773 before settling at Rs 3,778 from Rs 3,815 previously, showing a loss of Rs 37 per tonne.
