In the non-edible segment, castorseed bold and castor oil commercial recovered on renewed demand from shippers and soap manufacturers.
In futures trade, castorseeds September contract recovered smartly owing to speculative demand following higher export enquiries.
In the edible segment, Groundnut oil gained by Rs 10 per 10kg to Rs 990 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 980. Refined palmolein closed unchanged at Rs 540 per 10kg.
Moving to futures, castorseeds September contract resumed higher at Rs 3,590 and advanced to Rs 3,665 before settling at Rs 3,649 from Rs 3,571 previously, showing a net gain of Rs 78 per tonne.
