Refined palmolein also gained following good retail buying support.
In the non-edible section, castorseed bold and castor oil commercial recovered slightly on mild offtake from shippers and soap industries.
Linseed oil rose on moderate demand from paint and allied industries.
In the edible segment, groundnut oil hardened by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 990 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 980 and refined palmolein advanced by Rs 4 per 10 kg to Rs 532 from Rs 528.
Linseed oil also went up by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 765 from 760 yesterday.
