Groups clash in village, police deployed

Tension prevailed in Mustafabad Gazipur village in Udaypur police station area following a dispute over bursting of crackers during a pre-wedding function last night.
The clash began after a group of drunk revellers burst crackers during the pre-wedding function to which members of a community objected, police said.
During the melee, one group set on fire two thatched roofs of the other community, they said, adding that people from nearby villages came to the site adding to the tension.
Police and PAC from nearby police stations were deployed and the situation is now under control, police said.
