The Garo Students' Union (GSU) has requested the Arunachal Pradesh government to immediately publish the government-constituted committee's report on creation of Lower Siang district.
"The said committee was to put up its recommendation within 100 days. But surprisingly, 216 days have passed yet no report or recommendation has been submitted," the union in a three-point representation submitted to the chief secretary today said.
It requested him for immediate publication of the report and recommendation if any within the stipulated time.
It also requested the authorities for re-delegation of power to SDO Likabali to mitigate the administrative problems of the local people.
It further requested the state government for immediate deployment of adequate police force at Kangku circle in West Siang district and demanded for regular police patrolling in all the inter-state border villages of West Siang district.
