The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has raised a demand for simplification of the e-tourist visaproceduresat the state international airport under thee-tourist visa facility for foreignnationals who opt Goa as the "port of arrival".
A port of arrival is the first place a tourist lands in India while the port of departure is the exit point.
"GTDC has requested Union Tourism ministry to simplify the e-tourist visa process at the Goa international airport under the e-tourist visa facility for those foreign nationals who are opting Goa as the port of arrival," said GTDC chairman Dayanand Sopte while informing about the discussions held at the national conference of tourism ministers in Delhi recently.
He said the Centre was apprised about the GTDC's plans to launch a Goa Tourismapp for touristswhich will serve as aplatform for information,grievance redressal and bookings etc.
Sopte said the GTDC alsourged the Tourism ministry to sanction fundsfor developmentofchurches in Old Goa under PRASAD scheme.
Under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spirituality Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) scheme, twelve cities from various states have been identified for development.
