Guard saves jewellery shop, pay with life

A man guarding a jewellery shop had to pay with his life for thwarting a dacoity attempt in Kultali police station area of South 24 Parganas district, the police said today.
A gang of around 10 dacoits came to loot the jewellery shop at Ghati Haraniya bazar last night but the guard raised an alarm and the gang members had to flee.
However, they shot the guard dead before leaving the spot.
None was arrested till now, the police said.
