Guargum futures remained weak and prices fell by another Rs 50 to Rs 6,180 per quintal today as traders trimmed positions, triggered by weak physical markets sentiment.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guargum for delivery in far-month November month contracts declined by Rs 50, or 0.80 per cent at Rs 6,180 per quintal, with an open interest of 23,268 lots.
Also, guargum for delivery in June month was trading lower by Rs 50, or 0.79 per cent at Rs 6,270 per quintal, having an open interest of 21,035 lots.
Marketmen said offloading of positions by participants, tracking a weak trend at the spot markets and muted export demand, mainly kept the prices lower.
