Guargum futures remain weak, down Rs 90

Guargum prices fell by another Rs 90 per quintal at Rs 5,600 in the future market owing to trimming of positions by speculators amid a weak trend overseas and domestic markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guargum delivery for most active second contract June month extended losses by Rs 90, or 1.58 per cent to Rs 5,600 per quintal, with an open interest of 32,897 lots.
Also, the guargum for delivery in current month lost Rs 80, or 1.43 per cent to trade at Rs 5,510 per quintal, in an open interest of 10,393 lots.
Marketmen said reports of weak trend in overseas and doemstic markets amid sluggish demand mainly weighed on guargum prices at futures trade here.
