Imran Khan served as sepoy in the 17th Grenadier at Army Camp in Shahibaug area, said police sub-inspector M A Patel.
"He was admitted to civil hospital with a deep bullet wound right in the middle of his forehead last night. He died today. We have lodged a case of accidental death and sent his body for autopsy," he said.
"Though we were told that his rifle accidentally fired when he was cleaning it, we are not ruling out suicide angle as the bullet hit right in the middle of his forehead. We are waiting for the autopsy report," said Patel.
