"We are condemning this anti-people action for which UPA government is responsible and we are warning them to withdraw the price hike with immediate effect otherwise our party will launch a state-wide agitation," said Gujarat BJP president R C Faldu in a press statement.
Petrol price was today hiked by 75 paisa per litre and diesel by 50 paisa a litre as rupee hit an 11-month low, making oil imports costlier.
"By further increasing the prices of petrol and diesel UPA government has hit the common people very hard as they are already reeling under widespread and steep price hike," Faldu said.
