Gujarat CM reviews situation in the wake of delayed monsoon

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today held a high-level meeting to review availability of water and cattle fodder in the wake of delayed monsoon rains.
There is 18.51 per cent water in 203 large and medium dams in Gujarat, she was informed.
As many as 338 villages and 238 scarcity-affected hamlets are being supplied water through tankers. The CM instructed the officials to continue the supply till the situation improves, an official release said.
Sardar Sarovar dam on Narmada is receiving 15,680 cusecs of water every day against which 12,037 cusecs of water has been released in the canal.
To cope with possible scarcity due to a weak monsoon in the coming days, Patel instructed the officials to review the situation daily and expedite the process of purchasing additional one crore kg of fodder for the cattle.

Gujarat has received an average rainfall of 109 mm till today, 13.72 per cent of total rainfall it receives in monsoon.
Agriculture Minister Babu Bokhiria, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama and Finance Minister Saurabh Patel were among those present at the meeting.
