Gujarat minister appears before court

Gujarat Health Minister Nitin Patel today appeared before a court in Kadi town in the district which is conducting the trial of an election code of conduct violation case against him.
Local BJP leaders Lalji Patel and Arvind Kapadia also appeared before Additional Civil Judge of Kadi taluka court H J Tanna and filed replies through their lawyers.
The next hearing in the case will be held on February 29.
Congress had filed a complaint with the election authorities during the 2007 Assembly elections campaign that Nitin Patel, who was BJP candidate from Kadi, had made derogatory comments about Congress leaders at a rally in Luharkui area of Kadi town. Lalji Patel and Kapadia were named in the complaint as organisers of the rally.
