City-based gunrunner Babua alias Prakash Behera (32) was apparently waiting for his clients to deliver the arms at the crowded Ranihat overbridge when the police arrested him.
He was booked under several sections of Arms Act and produced before a court yesterday, police said.
Behera, resident of local Sheikh Bazaar area, was procuring the illegal arms from outside the state and supplying them to gangsters here, police said.
Having criminal antecedents, Behera was earlier arrested for several offences including murder, said the city DCP S Praveen Kumar.
