Gur falls on adequate stocks, reduced offtake

Gur prices drifted up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market in the national capital today due to reduced offtake by local parties against adequate stocks position.
Marketmen said besides reduced offtake by local parties and stockists, adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing areas mainly pulled down gur prices.
At Delhi, gur chakku and pedi declined by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,400-2,500 and Rs 2,500-2,600 per quintal, respectively.
Shakkar also fell by Rs 100 to Rs 2,800-2,900 per quintal.
In Muzzafarnagar, gur chakku, khurpa and laddo eased to 2,175-2,350,Rs 2,050-2,100 and Rs 2,200-2,250 against last close of Rs 2,200-2,450,Rs 2,100-2,150 and Rs 2,250-2,350 per quintal, respectively.
In overall weak trend, gur pedi and dhayya prices at Muradnagar traded lower at Rs 2,150-2,175 and Rs 2,200-2,250 from previous levels of Rs 2,200-2,250 and Rs 2,300-2,350 per quintal, respectively.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku 2,400-2,500, pedi 2,500-2,600, dhayya 2,700-2,800 and shakkar 2,800-2,900.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,100-2,200, chakku 2,175-2,350, khurpa 2,050-2,100 and Ladoo 2,200-2,250.
Muradnagar: Pedi 2,150-2,175 and dhayya 2,200-2,250.
