Gur falls on increased supply

Gur prices fell at the wholesale Jaggery market today on increased supplies from producing areas against reduced offtake by local parties and stockists.
Marketmen said increased supplies in the face of reduced offtake by local parties and stockists mainly pulled down gur prices.
At Delhi,gur chakku, pedi and dhayya were down to Rs 2,400-2,500, Rs 2,450-2,550 and Rs 2,600-2,700 against last close of Rs 2,500-2,600, Rs 2,525-2,625 and Rs 2,725-2,825 per quintal respectively. Shakkar eased to Rs 2,700-2,800 against previous level of Rs 2,750-2,850 per quintal.
At Muzzafarnagar, gur raskat, chakku,khurpa and laddo also dropped to Rs 2,200-2,250, Rs 2,200-2,400, Rs 2,100-2,200 and Rs 2,300-2,400 from previous levels of Rs 2,400-2,500, Rs 2,200-2,450, Rs 2,200-2,300 and Rs 2,300-2,500 per quintal, respectively.

In overall weak trend, gur pedi and dhayya prices in Muradngar, too slipped to Rs 2,100-2,150 and Rs 2,150-2,200 as compared to previous levels of Rs 2,150-2,200 and Rs 2,200-2,250 per quintal, respectively.

Gur chakku Rs 2,400-2,500, pedi Rs 2,450-2,550, dhayya Rs 2,600-2,700 and shakkar Rs 2,700-2,800.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,200-2,250, chakku Rs 2,200-2,400, khurpa Rs 2,100-2,200 and Ladoo Rs 2,300-2,400.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,100-2,150 and dhayya Rs 2,150-2,200.
