The wholesale Jaggery market ended on a mixed note in the national capital today as gur chakku rose on restricted supply, while shakkar prices fell due to slackness in demand.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also showed a similar trend.
Marketmen said restricted supply from manufacturing areas managed to pushed up some of gur varities, while thin demand from retailers dampened trading sentiment in a few other varities.
In Delhi, gur Chakku prices spurted by Rs 100 to finish at Rs 2800-2900 per quintal. While Shakkar prices dropped by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 3100-3200 per quintal.
At Muzaffarnagar, gur Khurpa and Ladoo prices rose to settle at Rs 2450-2500 and Rs 2600-2750 instead of Rs 2400-2450 and Rs 2550-2750 per quintal, respectively.
Prices of gur Chakku, meanwhile asked at Rs 2500-2850 from Rs 2600-2750 per quintal.
Turning to Muradnagar, gur Dhayya and Pedi prices asked lower at Rs 2450-2500 and Rs 2500-2550 from Rs 2500-2550 and Rs 2550-2600 per quintal.
