Gur pedi rises on local parties demand, paucity of stocks

Gur prices rose up to Rs 100 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale Jaggery market today on increased local parties demand against paucity of stocks.
Marketmen said increased local parties demand against paucity of stocks following negligible arrivals from producing areas mainly pushed up gur pedi prices.
At Delhi, gur pedi prices climbed to Rs 2,900-3,000 from previous level of Rs 2,850-2,900 per quintal.
The following are today's quotations per quintal:
Gur chakku 2,700-2,800, pedi 2,900-3,000, dhayya 3,000-3,100 and shakkar 3,200-3,300.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,300-2,350, chakku 2,450-2,700 khurpa 2,400-2,450 and Ladoo 2,550-2,750.
Muradnagar: Pedi 2,400-2,450 and dhayya 2,450-2,500.
