Gur prices decline on ample stocks, muted demand

Gur (Jaggery) prices drifted lower by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following mounting of stocks on non-stop supplies amid limited buying activities.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also revealed a fall of up to Rs 100 per quintal on sluggish demand amid bumper ready stocks.
Marketmen said abound availability of ready stocks in the market on relentless supplies from manufacturing belts amidst selective offtake by stockist and retailers mainly pulled down gur prices.
In Delhi, gur Pedi, Dhayya and Shakkar prices slipped by Rs 100 each to end at Rs 2,700-2,800, Rs 2,900-3,000 and Rs 3,000-3,100 per quintal, respectively.

At Muzaffarnagar, gur Chakku prices lost Rs 50 to end the day at Rs 2,425-2,625 per quintal.
Prices of gur Raskat prices also slackened by Rs 50 to conclude at Rs 2,150-2,200 per quintal on weak beer makers demand.

In Muradnagar, gur Pedi and Dhayya prices turned weak by Rs 100 each to finish at Rs 2,300-2,350 and Rs 2,350-2,400 per quintal respectively.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, pedi Rs 2,700-2,800, dhayya Rs 2,900-3,000 and shakkar Rs 3,000-3,100.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,150-2,200, chakku Rs 2,425-2,625, khurpa Rs 2,200-2,300 and Ladoo Rs 2,400- 2,500.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,300-2,350 and dhayya Rs 2,350-2,400.
