Gur prices decline on bumper stocks, weak demand

Gur Pedi prices declined by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following mounting of stocks on constant supplies amid restricted offtake.
Prices in Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also fell up to Rs 100 per quintal in the absence of buying support.
Marketmen said limited offtake by stockist and retailers amid bloated stocks positions pulled down gur prices.
In Delhi, gur Pedi prices dropped by Rs 100 to end at Rs 2,700-2,800 per quintal.
In Muzaffarnagar gur Laddoo prices slipped by Rs 100 to end at Rs 2,400-2,500, while Khurpa prices eased from Rs 2,300-2,400 to conclude at Rs 2,250-2,300 per quintal.
Gur Raskat prices also closed lower from Rs 2,125-2,200 to end at Rs 2,100-2,150 per quintal on thin demand from beer makers.
In Muradnagar, gur Pedi and Dhayya prices declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 2,300-2,400 and Rs 2,400-2,450 per quintal.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 2,700-2,800, pedi Rs 2,700-2,800, dhayya Rs 2,900-3,000 and shakkar Rs 3,000-3,100.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,100-2,150, chakku Rs 2,400-2,600, khurpa Rs 2,250-2,300 and Ladoo Rs 2,400- 2,500.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,300-2,400 and dhayya Rs 2,400-2,450.
