Gur prices dropped by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today owing to muted demand amid ample stocks on persistent arrivals.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also depicted a weak trend with prices declining up to Rs 100 per quintal on weak demand and increased arrivals.
Marketmen said apart from subdued demand from stockists and retailers, relentless arrivals from manufacturing belts, led the fall in gur prices.
In Delhi, gur Pedi and Shakkar prices dipped by Rs 100 each to end at Rs 3,200-3,300 and Rs 3,500-3,600 per quintal.
At Muzaffarnagar, gur Chakku and Laddoo prices slipped from Rs 2,850-3,050 and Rs 3,000-3,050 to close at Rs 2,800-2,950 and Rs 2,900-2,950, revealing a fall of Rs 100 per quintal, while gur Khurpa traded lower by Rs 50 to finish at Rs 2,750-2,800 per quintal.
Gur Raskat prices ended lower by Rs 50 to Rs 2,550-2,600 per quintal.
