Gur prices rose by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following fall in supplies from manufacturing areas amid better offtake by stockists and retailers.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also surged up to Rs 200 per quintal on less arrivals against increased demand.
Traders said besides restricted supplies from producing areas due to rising temperature, paucity of ready stocks and fresh buying support by stockist and retailers caused the rise in gur prices.
A firming trend in neighbouring states' markets also buoyed trading sentiments, they said.
In Delhi, gur Chakku and Pedi prices enquired higher by Rs 50 each to finish at Rs 2,400-2,500 and Rs 2,450-2,550 per quintal, respectively.
