Gur prices remain muted in thin trade

The wholesale gur (jaggery) market closed steady in the national capital today with prices after hovering both ways on alternate bouts of buying and selling, settled at last levels.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also closed steady in thin trade.
Marketmen said absence of demand due to offseason amidst negligible arrivals from manufacturing belts, mainly hold gur prices unmoved.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 3,500-3,600, pedi Rs 3,650-3,750, dhayya Rs 3,900-4,000 and shakkar Rs 4,000-4,100.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,650-2,700, chakku Rs 3,125- 3,350, khurpa Rs N.Q. And Ladoo Rs 3,250-3,300.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,300-3,350 and dhayya Rs 3,400- 3,450.
