Gur prices spurts on paucity of stocks

Gur prices firmed up by Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following paucity of stocks amid speculative buying.
However, Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets, however, settled flat on little doings.
Marketmen said tight stocks following negligible arrivals from manufacturing belts due to bad weather conditions, sparked speculative buying, mainly led to rise in gur prices.
In Delhi, the Dhayya prices shot up by Rs 200 to end at Rs 4,100-4,200 per quintal.
Shakkar prices also jumped up by Rs 100 to finish at Rs 4,100-4,200 per quintal.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 3,600-3,700, pedi Rs 3,900-4000, dhayya Rs 4,100-4,200 and shakkar Rs 4,100-4,200.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,800-2,850, chakku Rs 3,300-3,400, khurpa Rs 2,925-2,950 and Ladoo Rs 3,000-3,050.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,500-3,550 and dhayya Rs 3,150-3,175.
