Gur remains flat in Delhi, down in Muzaffarnagar

Steady conditions persisted at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today with prices moving in narrow range in limited deals and settled at last levels.
On the other hand, gur prices in Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar markets ended lower on lack of buying support.
Marketmen said negligible demand from stockists and retailers due to tight fund positions following the government's move to withdraw notes of higher denominations, mainly influenced volume of business which dropped considerably.
At Delhi, gur chakku and pedi moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled at last levels at Rs 3,000-3,100 and Rs 3,200-3,300 per quintal.

Gur dhayya and shakkar followed suit and ended at previous levels of Rs 3,400-3,500 and Rs 3,500-3,600 per quintal.
On the other hand, at Muzzafarnagar, gur raskat and chakku dropped to Rs 2,500-2,600 and Rs 2,600-2,900 from previous levels of Rs 2,600-2,650 and Rs 2,850-3,000 per quintal.

Gur khurpa and laddo also eased to Rs 2,550-2,650 and Rs 2,900-3,000 against last close of Rs 2,750-2,850 and Rs 3,000-3,100 per quintal.
In Muradnagar, gur pedi and dhayya too ended lower at Rs 2,850-2,900 and Rs 2,950-3,000 from previous levels of Rs 2,900-3,000 and Rs 3,100-3,150 per quintal.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,000-3,100, pedi Rs 3,200-3,300, dhayya Rs 3,400-3,500 and shakkar Rs 3,500-3,600.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,500-2,600, chakku Rs 2,600-2,900, khurpa Rs 2,550-2,650 and Ladoo Rs 2,900-3,000.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,850-2,900 and dhayya Rs 2,950-3,000.
