Andhra Pradesh Rural Development Minister Kimidi Mrinalini said the state government will take steps to introduce special literature award in Apparao's name.
A huge rally was taken out in the city to mark the poet's birth anniversary in which Mrinalini took part.
"The Archaeological department will take over Gurujada's house in the town and it will be developed as a historical monument," Mrinalini added.
