Gzb administration gears up for 'kanwad yatra'

District administration has geared up for 'kanwad yatra' and made the fool-proof arrangements for kanwariyas on the maha shivratri festival.
Ghaziabad District Magistrate Vimal Kumar Sharma today told reporters that all highways from UP border upto the last end of the district have been secured with CCTV cameras to ensure safety of kanwadias.
Contingency plans have been chalked out to face any eventuality by the district administration, he said, adding that anybody trying to harm the communal harmony shall be dealt with sternly.
All the ADMs and SDMs will remain on 24-hour vigil duty along with police officials throughout the kanwad yatra, he said.

A control room has been set up at Meerut road intersection where officials from all government departments will remain on 8-hour shift basis duty, the DM said.
