The Minister held meeting with the officers of Indian Oil Corporation here today, said an official spokesman.
Capt Abhimanyu said that the share of the gas in the energy mix of the country has gone up from six per cent to nine per cent in the last two decades.
Haryana is lagging behind due to non-creation of adequate gas infrastructure like laying of main gas pipeline and subsequent spur lines to supply the gas to the masses by establishing City Gas Distribution Network, he said.
Indian Oil Corporation IOC) has offered total energy solution and desired to sign an MoU with HSIIDC to make a joint plan for creation of additional natural gas infrastructure to existing and emerging industrial zones to support the industrial plans.
They would also jointly identify viable geographical areas for City Gas Distribution Network to cover the entire state.
IOC has already been authorised by PNGRB for development of City Gas Distribution network in Panchkula and adjoining areas, he said.
