At least 23 people, including a baby, died and dozens were injured when a bus hurtled out of control down a hill and into a ravine in Haiti, officials said.
The bus, carrying around 60 people as well as market goods, was yesterday due to travel 200 kilometers (125 miles) from western to southern Haiti when it crashed in the coastal town of Petit-Goave.
"It hurtled down a very dangerous hill before finally stopping 15 meters (50 feet) down in a ravine," said local justice of the peace Josephe Leandre.
"We counted 23 deaths - women, men and children, including a baby less than a year old," Leandre said, counting those who died at the scene and others who died at hospital.
