The programme, which will have 30 HAL's senior executives, was launched by Additional Secretary, Defence Production, Ashok Kumar Gupta. The executives will be groomed by professors of IIM-A, one of the premier business institutions of the country.
"It is a rare opportunity for HAL executives on one hand and IIM on the other to understand the needs of the defence sector," Gupta said.
"We need to develop leadership in PSUs and competency mapping is vital factor. HAL's initiative should bring about positive changes in all aspects of its functioning," he said.
The subjects to be covered during the program include business environment, individual and organisation, global competitive mindset, innovation and technology, strategic alliances and JVs, ethics and governance.
