On the occasion of Good Governance Day in Haryana today, the state government launched a new system of registration in the tehsil offices to make the process easier and transparent.
Besides, a 'CM web portal' and a 'CM Window' were also inaugurated to redress the grievances of the people.
The new initiatives were launched by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
Under the system, registration at tehsil offices will be carried out through 'e-disha' centres where people can come with their documents on a time given to them.
In the first phase, the system will be introduced in district tehsils of Jagadhri, Thanesar (Kurukshetra), Kaithal, Jind, Karnal, Rohtak, Rewari and Faridabad.
Khattar later told reporters that the initiatives were aimed at empowering the common citizens and redressing their grievances at their doorsteps.
The CM web portal was inaugurated with a view to reduce the gap between government and people through information technology.
'CM Window' was inaugurated at all district headquarters so that grievances of the people directly reach the government for redress and the public do not have to rush to Chandigarh, for it.
On the initiative, Khattar said the grievances of the citizens will be redressed in a time-bound period and anyone who sends a complaint will get a SMS alert after which he/she will be regularly updated about the status of the complaint and what one needs to do further till the matter is solved.
Khattar hoped that the new initiatives, which are also aimed at simplification of procedures and processes in the government, will help curb corruption and bring transparency.
"Our policy is zero tolerance towards corruption. We hope that people will definitely benefit from these new initiatives.
"We are committed to providing a transparent and accountable administration which works for the betterment of the common citizens," Khattar said.
'Good Governance Day' is being celebrated to mark the birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
