Hardcore naxalite held with arms and ammunitions

A hardcore Maoist was arrested today with arms and ammunitions from a village under Chakai police station area in Bihar's naxal-infested Jamui district, a police officer said.
Acting on a tip off, a joint team of Jamui police and Special Task Force (STF) raided Batpar village this morning and nabbed the hardcore Maoist, identified as Sona Ram Marandi, said to be a close associate of Chirag Da, an Area Commander of CPI(Maoist) of Bihar and Jharkhand regions, Additional Superitendent of Police (ASP), Operation, D N Pandey said.
Two detonators, two catridges, explosives materials and a looted motorcycle have been recovered from him, he said.

The ultra was wanted in connection with several incidents of naxal violence in the district, the ASP said.
