Playing black, Harika tried her best to wrest a victory but Khotenashvili Bela of Georgia put up a dogged fight till the end. Bela found herself struggling against time but managed to hold her nerves to get a draw.
Harika now has 3.5 points which puts her in the joint 7th position. Next round she plays white against Javakhishvili Lela who is currently the lowest ranked player in the tournament.
Harika will aim for a win in the next game to set herself up for a good finish, with six more rounds to go.
