'Love Coffee Love Books' is the first theme launched under this partnership.
Timed to coincide with the upcoming Valentine's Day, the event here was attended by many bestselling authors like Anuja Chauhan, Devapriya Roy, Lavanya Raghunathan, Meenakshi Reddy Madhavan, Mridula Koshy and Ruchita Misra who spoke on the topic 'Romance Beyond the Fairy Tales'.
As a part of the Books 'n' Bean initiative, Costa Coffee plans to start a 'Book Club' at its cafes, wherein customers can enjoy book reading sessions and interact with authors besides a dedicated book space for coffee lovers to browse through a range of titles.
Ananth Padmanabhan, CEO of HarperCollins India, said, "A good book and a good cup of coffee and talking about books over coffee, what's not to love! It's going to be a great space to catch authors live and 'taste' some of the finest writing from around the world, along with Costa's delicious food and drinks. It's a perfect combination."
"We plan to promote many literary genres through this partnership - some of them being romance, health, lifestyle, sports and Bollywood," he added.
Costa Coffee also launched their international bestselling coffee the Flat White, a speciality coffee based beverage, originally made famous by its success in Australia and New Zealand.
