Voice artist Harry Shearer, an integral part of the "The Simpsons", is returning to the long-running animated series for its 27th season.
Back in May, news emerged that Shearer, who voices a number of key Simpsons characters, was parting ways with the legendary series, reported Entertainment Weekly.
According to a statement released by the Fox network, the 71-year-old voice artist and actor has reversed his decision and rejoined the team for the next two scheduled seasons.
The show's executive producer Al Jean had planned to re-cast Shearer's characters.
"The Simpsons" is expected to return for its 27th season on September 27.
