"Not only in the field of metallurgy but we had proud history leading the world in sectors across including economy, industry, science, medicine, art and culture because of our uncommon talent and DNA, which was time tested and universally acknowledged," the minister said.
"However, we need motivation and new ideas to take the country to a new height," he commented while applauding the contribution of NML-CSIR to nation for last 65 years.
Addressing the scientists during the occasion, he said NML-CSIR has proud history and immensely contributed in the development of the country.
"During an interaction with the scientists, I came to know that the country stands 10 per cent behind the world's best in the science and technology field and the 10 per cent gap was because of those domestic industries, who were happy with the best foreign technology rather than the one already developed by the country," the minister said.
