National Human Rights Commission today sought reply from Haryana government over allegations of several posts lying vacant in health centres of Karnal district.
According to an NHRC statement released here today, the rights panel has asked the Haryana government to inform how many posts of medical and paramedical staff have been lying vacant in community health centres and sub-centres in Karnal district and since how long.
In the notices issued to the state Chief Secretary and Health and Family Welfare Department Secretary, NHRC has also sought to know about the steps taken by the administration to improve the situation and the kind of medical facilities available in these centers, especially for children and women.
The notice was issued after the Commission took suo motu cognisance of a media report about acute shortage of medical and paramedical staff in public health centres and sub-centres in Karnal.
According to media reports, six posts of medical officers are lying vacant in PHC at Sambhali, Barota, Jundla and Nising; all the posts of ANMs are lying vacant in sub-centres at Augad, Dacher, Amupur, Brahathlana, Dadupur and Bansa villagers. Similarly, all posts of class-IV employees are lying vacant in all these centres.
